Lena (Elena Khomoutova) was born in Moscow, Russia. She is painting since six years old. She completed her art education at the Fine Art Faculty of Moscow University in 1985. From 1988 to 1992 she worked at the Publishing House in Moscow and illustrated numerous books and journals.

Lena is resident of Ottawa since 1992. Canada's natural beauty and the kindness of its people are often the inspiration behind her paintings.
Many ideas for art works were inspired by discussions with her husband Alexander. Her budgie Gosha has a very artistic spirit too. Therefore paintings are signed by a special signature composed of three names including Lena's name, Alexander's one and Gosha's wing.

Many people say that Lena's paintings emanate happiness and magic light. She paints romantic landscapes in oil and acrylic, depicting old architecture, beautiful gardens and parks, playing children, winter and summer sport activities, different animals, birds and flowers.

Seven identical elements and an owl figure in her landscapes, with the number 7 representing a good luck and the owl wisdom.

Lena had numerous solo and group art shows and won several awards.
Her art was reflected in a numerous media coverage.

In 1998 Lena was an official artist for The Ottawa Senators Hockey Club. They published 9,899 lithographs of her artwork.

UNICEF, SOS Children's Villages Canada, Canadian Greetings and Publi-Tact printed millions of her and distributed them in more than 60 countries around the world.

Her original art works hang in private and corporate collections in different countries including Canada, Russia, The USA, Japan, Italy, UK, China, Germany, France, Switzerland and Czech Republic.
