Biography in French
Biography in Spanish

Elena Khomoutova (Lena)was born in Moscow, Russia. She is painting since six years old. She completed her art education at the Fine Art Faculty of Moscow University in 1985 and began her journey as a professional artist.
Since 1992 Lena is resident of Ottawa. Canada's natural beauty and the kindness of its people are often the inspiration behind her paintings.
Many ideas for art works were inspired by discussions with her husband Alexander. Her budgie Gosha has a very artistic spirit too. Elena's Signiture He is often sitting on Lena's shoulder when she is painting. If Gosha does not like the painting, he is screeching. When Gosha loves the painting, he is singing and giving Elena a lot of inspiration. Lena appreciates very much Gosha's input and her husband Alexander's help and inspiration. Her signature has a capital letter "A" at the end for Alexander and a wing for Gosha.

Many people say that Lena's paintings emanate happiness and magic light. She paints romantic landscapes in oil and acrylic, depicting old architecture, beautiful gardens and parks, playing children, winter and summer sport activities, different animals, birds and flowers.
Seven identical elements and an owl figure in her romantic landscapes, with the number 7 representing a good luck and prosperity, and the owl - wisdom of Love and oneness with Creator of All That Is. Lena uses visual art as unique tool for spiritual connection.
Lena loves to paint hockey. In 1998, Lena was chosen as an official artist for The Ottawa Senators Hockey Club. She created a painting depicting teenagers in Ottawa Senators jerseys playing hockey on Rideau Canal in Ottawa. 9,899 lithographs of the artwork were published by The Ottawa Senators Hockey Club and presented to season tickets buyers.
In 1999, The Ottawa Citizen newspaper commissioned a painting with portraits of the leading Ottawa Senators players.
In 2008, Lena was privileged to create commissioned painting for CARHA Hockey
(Canadian Adult Recreational Hockey Association) dedicated to CARHA Hockey World Cup in Quebec City.

UNICEF, SOS Children's Villages Canada, Canadian Greetings, Publi-Tact and CharityCards.com printed millions of Lena's art cards and distributed them in more than 60 countries around the world.
Her original art works hang in private and corporate collections in different countries including Canada, Russia, USA, Japan, Italy, UK, China, Germany, France, Switzerland, India and Czech Republic.

        Biographie dElena Khomoutova
